Let me introduce myself. . .
My name is Marian B. Gurowicz. (For a mnemonic, I tell people to just remember Robin Hood and Maid Marian.) Who I am makes for an interesting story, replete with contradictions and mysteries.
Whether at work or at play, I jump in with both feet. If you’re the type of person that’s into personality theories, I’ve had my assessed through several of the organizations to which I belong.
My credentials include being an innovative manager with 20 years of experience in Information Security, Information Systems, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing and Healthcare, Project and Operational Management. A proven record of bringing projects in on time, within budget and meeting client expectations. I’ve demonstrated an aptitude for creative problem solving through effective leadership and excellent communication skills. I have the ability to handle multiple priorities and be decisive in a high volume environment. I am a team player with sharp analytical skills. I am often described as insightful, organized, and detail-oriented. Plus I hold several certifications in Information Security, Risk Management and Project Management.
One common thread that has run through everything I’ve done is a thirst for knowledge and dedication to support educational programs. I earned my B.S. in Management at D’Youville College and my MBA through Phoenix University. I’m a Certified NLP Practitioner. Plus I hold several certifications in Information Security, Risk Management and Project Management.
Now I want to share what I've learned with each of you to help you Open the door to a more fulfilling life.
- I’m a wonder woman who is not beyond a little “why me?” on occasion.
- I’m a wife and mother. My husband, Joe, and I have three children Bill (20), Jen (15) and Nicky (15). Being very efficient, there is only one birthday shared between them.
- I’m the world’s most non-technical techie. Or is that the world’s most technical non-techie?
- I’m a Compliance Manager, the person charged with ensuring that the corporation follows all the rules.
- I spent years as a Mary Kay Consultant, where I got to be a cheerleader. In the end I realized that I liked helping people develop new skills much more than I liked selling skin care products.
- I excel at coming up with the “Big Picture” ideas but sometimes still get mired in the minute details.
- I love reading, taking classes, listening to audio programs, collecting both new ideas and certificates along the way.
